KENNEDY, Antja
Since 1983 freelance dance teacher, dancer, choreographer and movement analyst. Certificate in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies (CMA) in Seattle, Washington, USA (1984). Certificate as a practitioner in Movement Pattern Analysis by MOTUS Humanus, Denver, USA (2003). Further education in Labanotation with Thomas Schallmann in Germany (2016-25).
In 1987, she is a founding member of EUROLAB Association and worked for 12 years in the executive committee (www.laban-eurolab.org). Since 1990, she has been teaching and since 1995 directing the EUROLAB Certificate Programs in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies. (www.eurolab-programs.com) She teaches all parts of the curriculum, especially Observation and Motif Notation.
She has published several articles and a book in German (“Bewegtes Wissen“). A article in English was published 2013 in BODY-LANGUAGE-COMMUNICATION, an International Handbook on Multimodality in Human Interaction. In these publications she has included Labans Symbols and Notation.
Since 1992, she has taught at several recognized dance trainings and at various universities in Germany. In 2003, she was guest professor at the University of Hamburg. She is currently teaching workshops and courses on different Laban/Bartenieff based subjects LIVE-Online and in Berlin, Germany. (www.antjakennedy.de)
