
TAI, Amy Ming Wai
Amy Ming Wai Tai is Assistant Professor of Music Theory at Indiana University-Bloomington. She finished her PhD in Music Theory at Yale University (2024), MA in Music Theory at University Wisconsin-Madison (2018), and BA in English Studies and Music at the University of Hong Kong (2016). Her research focuses on the dance-music relationships, phenomenology, and Labanotation. Tai has presented her work in national and international conferences, including the Society for Music Theory, Music Theory Midwest, and the Royal Musical Association (U.K.). She has given/invited talks internationally, such as at the University of Hong Kong and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. She has also received awards such as the Royal Music Association Small Research Grant and the Society for Music Theory Minority Travel Grant.
